I'm finally back from China 8D The trip was really fun and educational and informative! :D

I'll post a more comprehensive post about the whole trip in detail later, but it won't have any pictures cos my camera got lost/stolen on the LAST DAY D: The crime rate in China is amazing. In total, 2 cameras, 1 camera case, 1 phone and 1 passport went missing. And many people fell sick nearing the end of the trip, with stomach flu and sore throats and diarrhea and other miscellaneous things. But all in all, it was a really fun trip, even if we kinda ate the same food every single day >_>

but i still want to whine

the importance of keeping your keyboard clean!

On Friday, I was on the comp again due to NO MORE CTS YAY!!!!!1!!1!!!one!!1!1 mood, when I realised that my keyboard wasn't in the best of states. Taking a closer look, it looked unclean. Very unclean. So I decided to clean it. Not the wipe-it-with-some-tissue clean. The take-out-all-the-keys-and-start-vacuuming clean.

So I declared on Plurk that I was keyboard cleaning, shut down the comp and plugged out the offending piece of equipment. After preparing a screwdriver, a box of tissues, many wet wipes, toothpicks, cotton buds, detergent liquid and a bowl of water, I was ready. READY TO CLEAN! >D

I looked at it again. It couldn't be that dirty, could it?
And then I took out all the keys.

I knew it was going to be bad, but I didn't really want to see this. Ack. So I had to shake everything out, vacuum the keys, use wet wipes to disinfect the thing, vacuum again, use a toothpick to remove the very persistent bits of grime, vacuum again and use the cotton buds + detergent liquid to further disinfect it. Then I had to wipe every single key with detergent liquid to get rid of the finger oil and dirt that had collected.

Nice and clean :D

It was a good thing I decided to take a picture of the keyboard with all the keys on before prying off all the keys, cos I had to refer to the picture quite a few times when putting all the keys back.

Now my keyboard is nice and not sticky and slightly smelling of detergent. But it's all good! 8D Cos when I peer through the gaps between the buttons, I don't think, "That has to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen" or "What is actually breeding in there???" but "Ooh I can actually see the bottom :D :D :D".

If only I put in this much dedication to my schoolwork.

"Smartness" is very subjective. Is it being extremely good in a specific aspect? A Jack of all trades? Able to predict future events logically? Intellectual knowledge? Even the idea of intelligence is subjective in itself. Does it include character, our moral compass, personality, wisdom? And that's not including the multiple intelligences that are already defined. And you do know the education system's primarily designed not for your own sake, but for the economy, right? To produce work units that are equipped with the skills to do their work so that companies can make money, which helps the economy, which holds up the whole notion of society as a whole. When all is said and done, you realise that you're just a number, a statistic, a pawn in the eyes of the world. So why limit yourself? It's not as if the world as a whole actually gives a damn as to what you do.

Boredom defines most of my life, as it has been mostly smooth-sailing and uneventful. And the study-hard-so-you-can-go-university-to-study-harder-to-get-degree-to-go-work-and-earn-tons-of-money-to-spend-on-everyone-you're-related-to-and-enjoy-life-only-after-you've-slaved-away-for-more-than-half-your-life ideal just doesn't really appeal to me. Which explains my lack of motivation. Meh.

8D 8D 8D Happiness is a VIRTUE. Seriousness is overrated. Too much seriousness makes you realise how sad and depressing the world actually is, and then it's hard to get out of it without some CRACK.

They're full of crack and fail and everything, esp suju. Which is good, of course. Epik High also has meaningful lyrics and stuff to think abt. And kpop is (slightly?) less trashy than most of the current pop music in the US. But the underground MCs are worth taking note of.

... That took a while. But my headache / dizzyness is still there D: Meh.

2 of my PW group members were going down to Labrador Park today, and I didn't go cos of dizzyness. But it started to rain as they walked the long distance to the park. Which resulted in "I'm not going to share my umbrella with (other guy) ! That would be so gay. Besides, it's PINK. D: " So they both walked in the rain. Lol.

My cough and sore throat still refuses to go away D: It's been there even though I've been eating good, non-cough-inducing food! Like porridge. And porridge. And more porridge. Gah.

Being sick also means I've been staying at home for very long. I had one week's worth of MCs! So I had nothing to do today, and resorted to watching random shows on TV. There was this boxing thing and this thai boxer was pwning the angmoh guy he was against. And I was thinking, "The angmoh anyhow charge one, like mad bull." Of course the thai boxer won. And then the America's Got Talent repeat came on. They didn't show the JabbaWockeeZ performance D: I was waiting for it lah! Meh. But the magicians were quite good haha. Then it ended. Then I went back to my room and attempted to reinstall Maplestory again cos it got corrupted cos of the new patch. But it still failed! Now I have to redownload the newest setup file and hope it works.

I've been playing Gemcraft :D Nice tower defense game! Go play! :D :D :D

I have to go collect my school stuff from my classmate cos I skipped school on Thursday and Friday. And I have PW makeup lesson this coming Tuesday, which is supposed to be the start of OG chalet. Sigh.

I've been watching Super Summer - basically, they dumped 3 suju guys in Saipan with this girl, and the girl gets to choose to go on a date with one guy at the end of every day. Then the girl and the chosen guy go out on a date the next day, while the other two guys can go have their gay date somewhere else. As expected, it is lulzy. And there are random hidden cameras! Which is always a plus.

My fringe is short now :S Now I can't use it to shield my eyes from the sun! Or appear emo and angsty. Oh well.

I bought Suju's 2nd album to make me feel less guilty about not getting the new one, haha. The best thing about it is that it has 13 interchangeable covers BWAHAHA.

Edit: I forgot about this aha. When I was playing DJ Max Clazziquai Edition on my brother's PSP, I realised that they spelled Tablo's name as Table. TABLE. xD

New MV :D :D :D Even Stella approves xD (Other than the blatant abuse of Autotune. But then again, that prevents them from being able to lipsync during live performances, cos it'll be too obvious. Maybe that's what they were trying to do haha.)

I was going to write an entry about dramafest yesterday, but some people are going to watch it today, and spoilering them wouldn't be nice. So I waited for dramafest to start first before posting.
(It was partly due to laziness as well, but that's not the point.)

The order was BB, BW, HH (:D), MT and MR - if they actually put it in alphabetical order, it would have been awkward due to the content of the plays.

BB - Blame It On the Moon

The concept was quite nice, but it didn't really make any sense. Was that the point of the drama, to show that nothing makes sense backstage? Basically, the drama was about the backstage madness during a play, and how all the backstage crew members are deranged in some way or another. It was amusing at times, and the idea of using an OHP to depict what was happening "onstage" was quite amusing, especially when the "moon" started falling down. However, the overall impression of the play was quite forgettable.

(And the blurb on the booklet was quite misleading.)

BW - Hell Yeah!

It's about this girl who ends up in Purgatory, which is between heaven and hell, kinda neither here nor there. The one/two? guardian(s) of the place then try to see where she should end up by looking at the things she had done during her life and grading her based on that. It was comical to see how she very indirectly caused the death of two people and made the lives of others miserable. Ultimately, she somehow ended up with 666 points, and became the ruler of Purgatory. Lol.

It was nice, and there were some truly funny moments, but it just paled in comparison to the next three plays.

HH - Lifeboat

There are seven people on a six-man boat. One has to go. Simple concept. The backstories of most of the characters were rather cliche, but the cast portrayed their characters well, and kept in character throughout the play. The ensemble was very good as the sea, and they added a dramatic touch. And at the end, when they played the helicopter sounds and used the strobe lights to shine in circles into the audience's faces, it was super effective at showing how they were saved. The strobe lights are super bright though. T__T

The only gripe that I have about this is the fact that the sailor had NO BACKSTORY D<. If he had one, I missed it, cos hoong and I came back into the PAC a little too late, and the play had already started xD

MT - A Period Drama

All about "women problems". Super funny! All I can say is that they chose the cast well. xD The script was very well written too. Most of us laughed throughout the whole thing. The play was very well done :D

MR - When the Bough Breaks

It's a good thing they put this as the last play, cos this one was just CREEPY D: It's about this couple who tried to have a kid, but always ended up with a miscarriage. The guy wants to go adopt instead, since it's close to impossible for them to have kids with that kind of a track record, but the girl doesn't want to. Later, it's revealed that the reason she doesn't want to try anymore is cos she's kinda INSANE, and believes one of her miscarriages lives on and is now 7 years old or something. All the miscarriages haunt her and stuff, and she's just mentally unstable.

The creepy part is when the ensemble puts on these strange fetus-like mask things D: And the part where they drop these foam balls from above the stage (they're supposed to be contraceptives or something). CREEPY D: D: D:

I liked HH, MT and MR :D but I can't choose between them lol. Hopefully HH does well xD

Only 5 days more to March 12! :D Which happens to be the day my brother's reporting for army too haha.

Just anyhow tie ponytail. Unless my hair's wet or something, then I just leave it down.

I don't really have one xD But I've been listening to Super Junior and Epik High quite a lot, and I watched Mei-Chan no Shitsuji and the korean Boys Before Flowers.

Egg and onion prata from my school canteen. The guy takes super long to make it, but it's really nice!

The problem with my head is that once I hear a song, it gets chucked into my brain and I can't forget how it goes for a very long time. This means I have something akin to a mini-jukebox in my head. So I just randomly think of songs and they start playing. :D So there isn't really a "last song" per se, cos they can all come back whenever I want them to.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The ability to gain as many superpowers as I wanted! >D

To answer properly, it would be to become ethereal at will. Then I can sneak onto planes and go overseas for free, as well as eavesdrop on people and stuff. xD

What is your favorite weather, and why?
Cooling weather, and not too humid? Around 12 degrees C would be nice, cos hot weather is annoying.

If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
The electric guitar. I would just make the sound super loud and annoy everyone else around me. >D

I was queuing up at the KFC near my house today to buy lunch. The woman in front of me was waiting for her food, and then she turned around and started talking to me. :S

It went something like this:

Woman: Hello, why aren't you in school now? It's still early (ie 1pm).
Me : Um. Orientation? (Didn't want to explain the whole thing to her, seeing as I have no idea who she is and WHY IS SHE TALKING TO ME T-T)
Woman: Oh. Ok.
...
So are you Sec 1?
Me : ... I'm J1. >_<
Woman: OH.

Woman: Wah, their orientation starts so early? I thought that it would start after the O level people go in.
Me : Um yes.

Woman: Isn't RJC very far from here?
Me : Um yes. Yes it is.
Woman: So you take about an hour to come here?
Me : ... Yeah, about there. o_0
Woman: So you're still keeping your old school uniform?
Me : Ehehehe......

Then her food came and she left.

Why do they talk to me just because I'm wearing my RGS uniform? Do I look especially friendly or something? D:

I went to VivoCity yesterday, and they were still having the chinese new year event thingy, so all the stalls were there. There was this terracotta soldier there that kinda looked like Eunhyuk o___o My mom bought some paper cuttings and several strange combs for the family. Mine has this picture of a girl with a book, and my brother's has a boy in front of a computer. The comb artist guy could sense the geeky waves coming off my brother, I suppose. Seriously, my brother's first word was "Computer". Sigh.

I keep posting more on Plurk than here. Oh well.
